Checkrides with David Lewis, DPE

David Lewis checkrides will primarily be conducted in Clarksville, TN, at KCKV. However, under certain situations, I will conduct DPE checkrides from other airports in the Middle Tennessee area as part of my aviation consulting services.

Before requesting a checkride, the applicant should be fully qualified and endorsed. To initiate the process, please send an email with your request and the following information to david@aerotechstrategies.com regarding David Lewis checkrides: 

- Applicant name 

- Applicant phone number 

- FTN 

- Type of checkride 

- Type of aircraft to be used (exactly as it will be entered in IACRA) 

- Part 61 or 141; if 141, include the name and designation number of the approved school 

- Instructor name and contact number 

If we are unable to accommodate you, you will be directed to enter your information into the Checkride Waitlist for DPE checkrides.

Cash only. Credit cards will be accepted for all administrative functions, excluding the Foreign Pilot Examiner associated with David Lewis checkrides.

The fee for all checkrides, including DPE checkrides, is $1000. Discontinuances will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

For administrative functions:

Foreign Pilot Examiner (FPE): $400

Military Competency Examiner (MCE): $150

Ground Instructor Examiner (GIE): $150

Flight Instructor Renewal Examiner (FIRE): $150

Basic Administrative Examiner (BAE): $150

SIC, SOE limitation removals, Remote Pilot Certificates, ATP Limitation Removal, and other aviation consulting services.

The checkride scenario will be sent to you directly after you have scheduled. Please ensure that your IACRA is complete at least two days before your checkride, especially if you are working with aviation consulting services like those offered by David Lewis checkrides or DPE checkrides.

In the realm of aviation consulting, there is always the possibility of rescheduling due to illness, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, we will collaborate to reschedule your David Lewis checkrides accordingly. 

Regarding cancellations, if the applicant decides to cancel more than 72 hours before their DPE checkrides, there is no cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 72 hours are only permissible in cases of valid illnesses or weather conditions. Please note that nerves are not considered a valid reason.
